> RightNow Agent, the terminal coding agent, is paused. Its guides stay online as reference.

In an existing Agent session, open the dashboard to switch sessions, reply, or dispatch work.

## Open the dashboard

**Text**

```text
/dashboard
```

The session opens the Agent Dashboard with `[+ New Agent]` selected.

- From a session, press `Ctrl+\` or run `/dashboard` (aliases `/agents-dashboard`, `/sessions`).
- Fullscreen only; hidden in minimal mode.
- Disable it with `[dashboard] enabled = false` or `RIGHTNOW_AGENT_DASHBOARD=0`.
- The initial selection is `[+ New Agent]`; no existing session is selected for a reply.

## Select a session

Rows are this process's top-level sessions and forks, plus other sessions on a shared warm agent service; subagents stay under their parent. Rows group by state or working directory and show live activity: running commands, pending questions, monitors, and scheduled loops.

Empty local sessions and untitled discovered sessions are omitted when they are unpinned and neither working nor awaiting input.

**Dashboard keys**

| Key | Action |
| --- | --- |
| Up / Down, j / k | Up / Down move through rows when the roster is focused or the draft is empty. j / k require Vim mode and roster focus. Selecting a row opens its peek panel. |
| Tab | Move focus between the roster and composer. |
| Enter | Open a selected agent, send a typed reply, or dispatch a new session. |
| Ctrl+S | Reply or dispatch, then attach to that session. |
| Shift+Tab | Cycle the peeked local top-level session through Normal, Plan, Auto, and Always-approve. Sessions from the shared roster and subagents do not change. Auto is skipped when disabled; Always-approve is skipped when blocked by policy. Without a peek, cycle Normal, Plan, and Always-approve for the next dispatch, with the same policy restriction. |
| 1 to 9 | Select an option in a pending question; Enter answers it. |
| Ctrl+T | Pin or unpin the selected session. |
| Ctrl+R | Rename the selected session. |
| Ctrl+G | Toggle grouping by state or working directory. |
| Shift+Up / Shift+Down | Move the selected row within its group. |
| Ctrl+X | Cancel a running turn; when idle, press twice within 2 seconds to delete permanently. |

Grouping, pins, and order persist under `[dashboard]` in the user `config.toml`. All keys: [Keyboard Shortcuts](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/keyboard-shortcuts#agent-dashboard).

## Reply or dispatch

### Peek and reply

A selected row shows its latest response and a reply box. `Enter` sends; a busy agent queues the reply. An empty reply opens the full session.

### Dispatch

With `[+ New Agent]` selected, the composer starts a new top-level session. `Enter` stays on the dashboard; `Ctrl+S` dispatches and opens it. Prompts over 64 KiB are rejected.

## Filter the roster

Press `Ctrl+/` to enter search mode; typing then filters the list instead of dispatching work, and `Enter` keeps the filter.

For example, type `s:working` in search mode to show working sessions; `Esc` clears the filter and leaves search.

**Roster filters**

| Filter | Matches |
| --- | --- |
| a:<name> | Case-insensitive agent-label substring. |
| s:<state> | working (busy, running), needs-input (needs, input), idle, inactive (dormant), completed (done), failed (errored, cancelled), blocked (paused). |
| #<text> | A literal # substring in the agent label or working directory. |
| other text | Agent label and working directory. |

## Usage view

Open a session, then run `/usage` or `/cost` to view session token and cost totals; `/session-info` shows its context usage.

## Diagnostics and telemetry

The local log `<RIGHTNOW_HOME>/logs/unified.jsonl` records startup, sessions, tools, and failures. Use it with `rightnow doctor` when dashboard state needs investigation. Add `--json` for a machine readable report.

Here, `<RIGHTNOW_HOME>` means the effective product home; see [Configuration](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/configuration). For a failed launch or missing dashboard, follow the [Troubleshooting guide](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/troubleshooting).

> **External telemetry is alpha and opt-in**
>
> External OpenTelemetry export (alpha, v1 schema) is off until both its master switch and a metrics or logs exporter are set; content fields stay off unless their own gates are enabled. See [Monitoring](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/monitoring).
