> RightNow Agent, the terminal coding agent, is paused. Its guides stay online as reference.

Check an existing installation with Doctor before matching a symptom to the reference below.

**Expected result:** terminal capabilities, issues, and recommendations. Keep those findings with your issue report.

The native installer reference covers Windows x64, Windows ARM64, macOS Apple Silicon, macOS Intel, Linux x64, Linux ARM64. Linux binaries are static and do not require glibc.

## Windows behavior

- File-path completion returns no suggestions because the current provider explicitly returns an empty result on Windows.
- External auth-provider commands run through the shared `shell_c` helper, which uses `cmd /C`. The measured record reports corruption for commands containing a double quote; avoid that shape until the path is requalified.
- Permission prompts are application decisions, not kernel filesystem or network isolation, and [sandbox profiles](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/sandbox) are not enforced on Windows.

## Product behavior

- Native updates follow the selected stable or alpha channel. The updater's `--check` option previews the decision without installing; `--json` formats that check as JSON. See the [Install guide](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/install).
- Provider authentication and availability are external dependencies.
- Provider-side limits may affect requests. Provider response time contributes to end-to-end latency. Headless backend unavailability maps to exit code 23.
- A stale warm agent service can continue serving a same-version or unversioned development binary until it is stopped.

## Source and package issues

Recorded on 2026-09-03, before the current native release; each item still holds in the 1.0.5 source and its Windows package.

- The Windows package payload still includes local-model setup and model-creation scripts plus the proprietary license file.
- `verify/ship-gate.ps1` still contains an Ollama-backed local-model preflight. `verify/verify-all.ps1` skips real model-dependent suites and uses an isolated loopback backend.
- These and the recorded packaging and local-runtime gates do not describe the current six-platform installers.

## CI boundary

In the agent repository's hosted CI at 1.0.5:

- The Windows workspace library command excludes `rightnow-pager` and runs only the `diagnostics::fix` and `doctor_cmd` pager filters.
- PTY integration tests are outside the hosted `--lib` commands.
- Warnings remain visible but are not denied because `RUSTFLAGS=-D warnings` is commented out.
