- Type `/` to open the menu, then type part of a command name to filter it.
- Use Up and Down to select a command, Tab to complete its text, and Enter to submit a completed command.

## Built-in commands

Use the categories below for lookup. Check [render-mode limits](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/slash-commands#render-mode-limits) and [conditional commands](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/slash-commands#conditional-commands) when a command is missing.

### Example output

Literal fixture excerpt: /status with an environment key, then text from the /help palette. The Model and Credential rows are paraphrased below.

**rightnow: status and help**

```text
RightNow status
Provider    <provider-id>  <base-url>
Config      <config-path>
Keys        <auth-path> (owner-only, <stored-count> stored)
Commands
↑/↓ nav
Enter select
Esc close
```

**Paraphrased model row:** `<model-name>` is shown with model ID `<model-id>`.

**Paraphrased credential row:** The active key comes from `<env-var>` in the environment. Its value is masked; only `<key-suffix>` is shown. A stored key is also present and unused.

Typed-only forms, not listed in the menu: `/yolo [on|off]` sets always-approve, `/plugin` runs plugin actions such as list or reload, and `/info` shows session details. `/plugins` still opens the modal, and, in the TUI, `/status` keeps its provider-status behavior.

## Render-mode limits

- Fullscreen only: `/find`, `/jump`, `/timeline`, `/theme`, `/tutorial`, `/workflows`, `/dashboard`.
- Minimal only: `/expand`, `/edit-prompt`.
- Agent Dashboard only: `/cd`.
- The menu hides commands that cannot run in the current render mode.

## Conditional commands

These commands appear only when their runtime feature or capability is available.

- When enabled, `/auto` switches to classifier-based permission mode; running it again returns to Ask.
- When available, `/recap` requests a session summary outside the prompt queue; the result is not added to the model conversation. Its alias is `/summarize`.
- When enabled, `/voice` starts or stops dictation; Esc stops recording and Enter stops and sends. Voice mode lasts for the current process and is not saved to `config.toml`.
- When goal mode is enabled, `/goal` sets, checks, pauses, resumes, or clears an autonomous goal.
- `/memory`, `/flush`, and `/dream` need memory; `/loop` needs the scheduler tool.

> **Unavailable commands are omitted**
>
> Voice keyboard shortcuts are disabled in the shipped template; `/voice` remains available when the voice feature is enabled. Image or video generation is denied by the shipped profile, so `/imagine` and `/imagine-video` stay hidden. Hidden diagnostics are not listed.

## Skills as commands

An enabled skill with `user-invocable: true` appears in the same menu as `/skill-name`. Built-in names win collisions, so a project or plugin skill remains available through its qualified name such as `/local:compact`. Disable a skill through `/skills` to stop advertising its slash command.

For terminal input problems, run `rightnow doctor` and follow [Troubleshooting](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/troubleshooting). Shell commands are in the [CLI reference](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/cli-reference); keys are in [Keyboard Shortcuts](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/keyboard-shortcuts).

## Next task

[Choose how to continue a session](https://www.rightnowai.co/docs/sessions#fork-and-rewind) before using resume, fork or rewind.
